Clinicians

Engaging Medical Technology Innovation
If you are a clinician with a MedTech idea, Medtech-iQ Aotearoa can help with collaboration, learning, and growing your idea, and your know how, in all things MedTech.
Collaborate

There are a number of networks and forums for you to participate in, to understand the MedTech sector in Aotearoa, New Zealand.

To get an initial understanding of the sector, you can start by contacting your Health NZ | Te Whatu Ora Innovation team, here.

For clinicians that are not employed by Health NZ | Te Whatu Ora, an affiliate partner, see below for places to connect and explore.

Learn

Medtech-iQ Aotearoa provides a window into MedTech activity across New Zealand, so please review our News and Events pages. We also recommend:

  • Caffeine Daily provides a great overview of local innovation and start ups generally.
  • Sign up for the MedTech Bites newsletter that provides updates monthly, on activity in our MedTech Sector.
  • Join us at our HealthTech Week, which runs in June every year in Auckland. Keep an eye on our Events page for details and registration.
Grow

If you have a MedTech opportunity that you'd like to research and grow, Te Tītoki Mataora | MedTech Research Translator provides funding, upskilling, networking, and other support services. These are available to Health NZ | Te Whatu Ora collaborators. This programme encourages clinician/researcher collaboration for the development, testing and translation of ideas into sustainable clinical solutions. You can find out more here.

If you are a clinician that is not part of Health NZ | Te Whatu Ora, please reach out to us here, to see how we can connect into the MedTech sector.

If you are a Health NZ | Te Whatu Ora clinician and would like to simply suggest a MedTech idea, please contact Health NZ's innovation group.
