Clinicians and Medical Technology Innovation
If you are a clinician with a med tech idea, Medtech-iQ can help with collaboration, learning, and growing your idea, and your know how, in all things Med Tech.
Collaborate
There are a number of networks and forums for you to participate in, to understand the Med Tech sector in Aotearoa.
To get an initial understanding of the sector, you can start by contacting your Health NZ Innovation team, here.
For clinicians that are not employed by Health NZ, an affiliate partner, see below for places to connect and explore.
Learn
Medtech-iQ provides a window into Med Tech activity across Aotearoa, so please review our News and Events pages. We also recommend:
- The Good Clinical Podcast, starting with the experience of Dr Greg O'Grady, surgeon turned Med Tech CEO.
- Caffeine Daily provides a great overview of local innovation and start ups generally.
- Sign up for the Med Tech Bites newsletter that provides updates monthly, on activity in our Med Tech Sector.
- Join us at our Health Tech Week, which runs in June every year in Auckland. Keep an eye on our Events page for details and registration.
Grow
If you have a med tech opportunity that you'd like to research and grow, the translation service of Te Titoki Mataora provides both funding, upskilling, networking, and other support services. These are available to Health NZ collaborators. This programme encourages clinician/researcher collaboration for the development, testing and translation of ideas into sustainable clinical solutions. You can find out more here.
If you are a clinician that is not part of Health NZ, please reach out to us here, to see how we can connect into the Med Tech sector.
